Description

Salad days – The second book in the Annabel Books Series by Jan Parnham.

The first told how she met Dandy and discovered that she was able to communicate with plants and nature. Now she is on her summer holidays. Her grandfather has asked her to water the plants in his greenhouse for a couple of weeks while he is away on his own holiday. As Annabel watered the salad crop in the very large greenhouse, the plants started singing to her. This was when Major Onion popped in and asked if she, together with her school friend Tim, would like to be guest judges at the annual ‘Festival of Song’.

This imaginative book is printed in full colour and illustrated with Jan’s delicate drawings. The book not only features the first story in the series but also a cake recipe, botanical glossary and nature information section where readers will learn about real plants, flowers and animals.
